After winning the 2015 Music BC and BC Country Music Association Artist Development Award, Canadian country music artist Lisa Nicole hired NovaCurrent Public Relations to manage her television, print, and online publicity in conjunction with the release of her new EP, Come Find Me, in September of 2016.
As Lisa Nicole embarked on a radio and performance tour across Canada to support this release, NovaCurrent created a Canadian country music publicity campaign strategy that specifically targeted her Canadian tour destinations along with additional Canadian online outlets to further broaden awareness of her EP.
As a result of this campaign, Lisa Nicole earned over 40 media placements, bringing awareness to her music in new markets and increasing her overall profile across the Canadian country music scene.
Campaign highlights included television interviews with Daytime Ottawa, Global News Morning Halifax, City Lights (Novus TV), go! Shaw TV Kootenays, and online interviews and features from Canadian Beats, The Reviews Are In, Country Music Junkies, 604Now, The London Free Press, Addicted Magazine, and The Castlegar News.

In the spring of 2017, we continued our work with Lisa Nicole by preparing a grant application for the Careers of BC Artists program of Creative BC.
NovaCurrent worked with Lisa on all aspects of the application – including the project plan and all supplementary materials.
Lisa Nicole was approved for funding in the Creative BC Careers of BC Artists program in the summer of 2017. The funding was used to fund the music video and marketing initiatives for her 2018 single, “Mad About It”.
In early 2018, NovaCurrent Public Relations worked with Lisa Nicole on a domestic tour grant application Music BC’s Travel Grant program.
We worked with Lisa on all aspects of the application – including the marketing plan, online application and supplementary materials.
Lisa Nicole was approved for funding by Music BC to cover the domestic tour costs of her cross-Canada touring and marketing initiatives for her 2018 single, “Mad About It”.
Lisa Nicole continued her work with NovaCurrent Public Relations by asking us to manage her television, print, and online publicity in conjunction with the radio and music video release of “Mad About It” in January of 2018.
As a result of this campaign, Lisa Nicole earned over 25 media placements, bringing awareness to her single in markets that were tied in directly to her Canadian live show and radio tour along with the start of her extended songwriting and performance dates in Nashville. We also coordinated a press day for Lisa in Toronto.
Highlights included television segments on The Morning Show (Global Toronto), Global News Morning Winnipeg, video interviews with Rudy Blair and Q&A with Lady K, and online features and interviews by VENTS Magazine, The Music Express, Stage Right Secrets, Canadian Beats, The Wall-Eye Magazine, The Harlton Empire, and My Entertainment World.

In the spring of 2019, Lisa Nicole hired NovaCurrent Public Relations to prepare her application to the FACTOR Juried Sound Recording program.
We worked with Lisa on all aspects of the initial application to the Sound Recording component of the program – including building supplementary materials, and designing a marketing plan.
Lisa Nicole was approved for funding in the FACTOR Juried Sound Recording program in the summer of 2019. The funding was used for the creation, distribution, and promotion of her 2021 album, “Where Wild Hearts Beat”.
In January of 2020, Lisa released the album’s first single, “Wait On Me”, which was accompanied by a publicity campaign. For this campaign, we targeted television and online outlets in Canada to go along with additional international outlets who would connect with Lisa.
Lisa received over 20 media hits, including television interviews on CTV Morning Live Vancouver, CTV Morning Live Calgary, a music video premiere with Front Porch Music, and online interviews and features by The Partae, Medium, Parx-E Magaine, Review Fix, and Sunburnt Country Music. In addition, “Wait On Me” received placements from 8 and third-party Spotify playlists.

In the summer of 2020, we teamed up with Lisa again on her next single, “Do Your Thang”. For this publicity campaign, the intention was to maintain interest in Lisa during the second half of the summer season and target online outlets that would connect with upbeat nature of the song.
Highlights of this campaign included interviews and features by Music of the Future, Stereo Stickman, Amplify Music Magazine, Reignland Magazine, What On What’s Good, and a guest post on Black is the New AP Style. The campaign earned over 10 media interviews and features and over 30 independent Spotify playlist and Instagram influencer placements.

Next up, Lisa Nicole released “Count On You”, the third single from her upcoming album, in the summer of 2021. We worked with Lisa on another publicity campaign to build early buzz for the album.
Through this campaign, we gained over 15 interviews and features including song features for Lisa Nicole from Gas Mask Magazine, Music Express, and Canadian Beats, as well as interviews with Desert Tiger Podcast, Country with Celine, Tinnitist, and Music City Music Magazine. Additionally, “Count On You” was placed by 23 Spotify independent playlist curators and influencers.

For our final publicity campaign for Lisa Nicole relating to “Where Wild Hearts Beat”, we promoted the album’s featured single, “Gypsy Girl”, and focused on interviews and features relating to the complete collection of songs on the album.
The resulting campaign earned over 40 interviews and features for Lisa Nicole. Highlights included a television performance on Today in Nashville and The Hampton Roads Show, a television interview on Global News Morning Kingston, album reviews from Front Porch Music and Stereo Stickman, and interviews with Rudy Blair, In the Country with Dave Woods, The Sports Guys, Music and Tour News, Hidden Beats, Canadian Beats, Studio B, Make Studios, Medium, and This is Codi. Further to this, we secured individual song premieres for three other tracks on the album through Aesthetic Magazine, Live in Limbo, and Tinnitist. “Gypsy Girl” was also added to over 20 Spotify independent playlists.
