In the summer of 2018, Canadian recording artist Kristin Carter hired NovaCurrent Public Relations to prepare her application to Music BC for the Business Travel Grant program.
We worked with Kristin on all aspects of the application – including the marketing plan, supplementary materials, and proposed budget.
Kristin Carter was approved for funding in the Music BC Business Travel Grant program in the winter of 2018. The funding was used towards a Nashville songwriting trip.
In the winter of 2018, NovaCurrent PR continued our work with Kristin Carter to prepare her application to the Creative BC Careers of BC Artists program.
NovaCurrent worked with Kristin on all aspects of the application – including the project plan, proposed budget, and all supplementary materials.
Kristin Carter was approved for funding in the Creative BC Careers of BC Artists program in the spring of 2019. The funding was used towards the music video for her top 20 Canadian radio single, “Karma” in 2019.
In the fall of 2021, NovaCurrent Public Relations reconnected with Kristin Carter to prepare her application to the FACTOR Juried Sound Recording program.
NovaCurrent worked with Kristin on all aspects of the initial application to the Sound Recording component of the program – including building supplementary materials, and designing a marketing plan.
Kristin Carter was approved for funding in the FACTOR Juried Sound Recording program in the spring of 2022. The funding will be used for the creation of her debut album.
In the fall of 2022, we teamed up with Kristin for another Creative BC/Amplify application in support of a music video and stand-alone PR campaign for “I’m Still Here”, one of the planned singles from the album.
NovaCurrent worked with Kristin on all aspects of the application, including the creation of the project plan and supplementary materials.
Kristin Carter was approved for funding by Creative BC/Amplify in February of 2023. Funding will go towards the planned music video and publicity campaign.
In October of 2023, our first publicity campaign began for Kristin Carter to accompany the single and video release of “I’m Still Here”, the first single from Kristin’s debut album in the contemporary pop genre.
The goal for this campaign was to build interest in the new single while also re-establishing Kristin in a new genre and building interest in the single and the upcoming album.
The music publicity campaign for “I’m Still Here” earned 30 media interviews and features for Kristin Carter, highlighted by placements like a Remembrance Day feature by BC’s Show on CBC Radio One, song features by Canadian Beats, Tinnitist, Soundville, Pop Passion Blog, Indie Boulevard, Conversations About Her, along with guest features on Aesthetic Magazine and Black is the New AP Style. As part of this campaign, “I’m Still Here” was also featured on the Amazon Music Canada editorial playlist “Brand New Music”, as well on 15 additional independent Spotify playlists including “The Eh List” by Exclaim.
